Better than Learning from Experience.

Unless otherwise stated, all the scriptures used are taken out of the King James Version of the Bible.

Focus Versse: Proverbs 13:20 KJV

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

There is nothing more powerful to make or break man than the power of free choice. Choices make and break men every day. It is an absolute individual prerogative to chat a course for their own lives. However, nowhere else can one find the stakes to be greater than choosing an approach of trial and error as one walks the journey of life. It’s commonly held that people learn from their experiences. The danger to this approach to life is that “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12 KJV. Therefore to walk according to one’s limited perspective about life might turn out to be a risky endeavor. What is far, far better than to learn from one’s experience is to learn from other people’s experiences. One way to achieve this is through selective association. If one chooses to associate with people that simply accept him/her, but cannot add value to that person, and lack the proven path of success, but rather display characteristics of foolishness, that will inevitably lead to destruction. The safe and scriptural way to learn from other people is to be selective in whom to follow. The scriptures say “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise”’

One biblical character who was intrigued by the meaning of life and had the resources and the means to thoroughly investigate experimentally how to live a meaningful life was no other than King Solomon. He set out on a mission to find the meaning of life to hand out a template for future generations to use to navigate through life. As they say, if you can think of anything, chances are King Solomon “had been there, had done that” so there’s no need to re-event the wheel. In his own words, he states

”I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life. I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.“

Recall we started out by establishing that it’s better to learn from other people’s experiences than repeating the same mistakes. King Solomon tried it all in his quest for the meaning of life, wine, sex, and riches and it would behoove us to pay attention to his ultimate conclusion:

”Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.“

Day 8 – God uses The Holy Spirit to influence man.

John chapter 14, verse 26, King James Version.

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Life can be a maze without guidance. Man was never designed to navigate life unilaterally. One of the ways God desires to relieve man of the daunting task of charting his own course, is through the person of the Holy Spirit.

Today’s scriptural reference states that “..the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things.” While formal education, does provide specified training, it doesn’t teach “all things “ but the Holy Spirit does.

Psalms Chapter 32, verse 8, states:

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”

Jeremiah Chapter 10, verse 23 states:

“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”

Psalms Chapter 37, verse 23 declares:

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”

The Holy Spirit is God’s GPS to man, to help him navigate life on earth.

God also understands that life is full of challenges, that man may not be able to solve, by human power alone.

Acts Chapter 1, verse 8, says:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

So, the Holy Spirit comes to add a “super”, to man’s natural power, resulting in man receiving supernatural power.

It was through the power of the Holy Spirit, that David, a young boy, was able to kill a well armored, highly trained and ranked leader of the Philistines army by the name of Goliath. 1st Samuel, Chapter 17, verses 1 through 54.

It was also by the Power of the Holy Spirit, that young David narrates of killing a lion and a bear.

A good example of the kind of supernatural empowerment that was on David, is observed in another Old Testament character, by the name of Samson.

Judges chapter 14, verse 5 through verse 6: reads:

Verse 5, “Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.”

Verse 6, “And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.”

Not only did The Holy Spirit empower people like David and Samson to perform physical feats, in other cases the Holy Spirit afforded men skills, that today, one would have to attend an engineering school for.

Exodus chapter 31, verse 2, through verse 5, King James Version states:

“See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:”

“And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,”

“To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,”

“And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.”

God put his Holy Spirit on men who had no knowledge in architect and architectural designs, and they became proficient in the field, by the aid of the Holy Spirit.

This was only to introduce you to the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit in man. There are more detailed books written on the subject, if you are interested. In Day 9 Post, I cover the topic “Satan uses evil spirits to influence man”.

Prayer if you want to receive Jesus in your life:

Dear Father, I come to you in the name of your son Jesus Christ. Today, I confess with my mouth, that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised him from the dead. Today, I accept you Jesus, as my Lord and savior. Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me, all of my sins. Today, I repent, and turn away from them. Thank you Father, for receiving me, in Jesus’ name I have prayed. Amen.

Day3 – Adam and The Fall of Man.

Reading Day 2 post first is recommended.

So far I have covered the following topics which can be reviewed in Day 2post:

God is a spirit, Satan is a spirit, Man is a spirit, God’s Domain- heavenly/spiritual realm, Man’s Domain- earthly/natural realm, God needs a body to access man’s domain and man needs a spirit to access God’s domain, man who is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body can enjoy both the natural and spiritual realms.

In this article I will address issues surrounding the fall of man.

Man’s ability to access both the natural and spiritual realms without violating domain rights gave him a center stage as a gateway for spirit beings to gain legal access to the earth realm.

Revelation 12:7-9, 12 KJV

7.“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,”

8.“And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.”

9.“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

12.“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

Today’s scriptural reference above, sets the stage for the events described in Genesis Chapter 3, about the temptation and fall of man, namely Adam and Eve, but federally, the fall of the entire human race.

When Satan, the devil, got defeated in heaven, and was cast down to the earth, he quickly learned that he was pretty much homeless. Cast out of the heavenly realm – the domain of spirits – to the natural realm (the domain of man). The rendition in verse 12 “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath,” captures Satan’s rage against man because of the enviable position man now held on earth.

Satan resolves that at all costs, he must gain earthly dominion from man. At this juncture, Satan still has another huddle in his way, he doesn’t have a body. To resolve the later, he entered (incarnates himself) into a snake.

Knowledge of the Sunday School story about the fall of man is assumed here. For simplicity’s sake, Satan or the snake successfully tricks the first couple, Adam and Eve into disobeying God ( their creator), and for doing so, Satan earns himself the following curse from God:

Genesis 3:14 KJV

“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou artcursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:”

Prior to the curse, the serpent must have had legs and feed on plants like other animals. This highlights the truth I shared in Day 2 post, that spirit beings need a body, to legally transact any business here on earth. The first and most sought after, is the body of man, in the absence of which, spirit beings will settle for the body of an animal ( Mark 5:12, Numbers 22:21-39).

Your understanding of the events leading to this point is vital to your understanding of topics that I will be covering hereafter. It’s highly advisable that you review previous posts, before my next topic which will be “MAN IS A SPIRITUAL CONTAINER “ in Day 4 post.

Prayer for accepting Jesus’s as Lord and Savior:

Father, I come to you, In the name of your son, Jesus Christ. I admit that I have sinned against you, and I am sorry for my sins. Please forgive me. Dear Jesus, come into my heart, and save me. I totally and wholly surrender my life to you. I will live for and serve you the rest of my life. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen
