Jesus Came to Provide both Spiritual and Bodily Healing – Day 14:

Posted on September 28, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

Jesus came to provide both bodily and spiritual healing:
Have you ever been sick or do you know anyone who is sick? Well, in Mark Chapter 2, verses 1-12, there is a story of a man who was paralyzed by sickness. He was too paralyzed to stand, walk or sit. He was bed- ridden, and he could no longer take care of himself. The scriptures tell us that this paralytic man, was brought to Jesus by four men on a stretcher.
The story goes as follows:
“1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.”
Due to the crowd, the four men could not get the paralyzed man to Jesus. The house in which Jesus was, was full beyond capacity. However, these four men, who had most likely walked several miles bearing the dead weight of their invalid friend, were not about to be deterred to get him to Jesus, by lack of room in the house. They took a calculated risk, unroofed part of the house, and lowered the stretcher with the paralytic man into the house. Verse 5 states “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” Can you put yourself in the shoes of these men for a moment? They had risked everything to get their friend to Jesus. When against all odds, they finally got him to Jesus, Jesus momentarily ignores the obvious and addresses the not so obvious, the spiritual condition of the paralytic, by saying “…. Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” The four men are probably thinking, “misdiagnosis”. However, Jesus identified a deeper rooted and far dangerous problem in this man, than the man’s physical disability, his spiritually dead spirit. Satan works outside in, God works inside out. You may say, “how do you know that?” In the Garden of Eden, Satan drew man’s attention to the fruit on tree, God had forbidden man to eat of; “6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” Genesis 3:6. On the contrary, God begins his work by focusing on what is on the inside of man; “ But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees;[a]for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”’ I Samuel 16:7.
When Jesus pardoned the paralytic’s sin, the religious order of the day became upset with Him. They said “ Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?” But Jesus’ next move was to leave them utterly amazed; “…. (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.”’. Jesus clearly demonstrated that sin and sickness are evil twin brothers, and they are to be addressed in the same transaction. Jesus could have said to the four men, “carry the paralytic man home, after all his sins are forgiven”. No sir. Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Jesus took both our sins and sickness on his body on Calvary. Matthew 8:15-17 records “16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” Please note that Jesus carried both our infirmities (sins) and sicknesses in his own body on Calvary.

Model Prayer: Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Dear Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am sorry for my sins, and I ask you to forgive me, wash me with your blood, and give me your Holy Spirit to teach and guide me. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
If you believed and prayed the above prayer, you are now a born again child of God.

The Way of Salvation – Day 13:

Posted on September 22, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest that you read day 12 blog first by clicking here.

You were meant to live with God Forver:

Man is destined to live eternally, the question is where? In the Gospel of John Chapter 14 verses 1-6 Jesus is quoted saying, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”

When Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God, sin entered the world through them and was passed down to all their offspring, all the way down to me and you. For this reason the scriptures state that “23 ….all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23. The scriptures further state that “10 ……There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Romans 3:10-12. The Old Testament scriptures echo the same message “6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6. The book of Genesis records man being driven from the presence of God because of sin (Genesis 3:23-24), the New Testament heralds the message of the Savior of the world (John 4:14). In the Old Testament, a lamb had to die in order for God to temporarily forgive man’s sin, in the New Testament, Jesus became the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world once and for all if believed (John 1:29). After Adamic sin, man had no way to God. In fact God having driven man out of the Garden of Aden, an angel and a flaming sword that turned every way were placed there to guard the way to the tree of life (Genesis 3:24). Man then, began a long journey, as if blind folded, trying to figure out his way back to God; a matter that accounts for all the religions of the world today. Having been driven away from God’s presence, man found himself naked both physically and spiritually. Man used the leaves from a tree to cover his nakedness (Genesis 3:7), but God deemed the covering of leaves incapable of covering man’s sin because without the shedding of blood, there no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22). God had to kill a lamb, in order to make a covering for man (Genesis 3:21). The construction of the tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9) is another miserably failed man’s attempt to reach God in his own effort, in my view the equivalence of organized religion. Then God Himself gave man the law through Moses but it turned out that no one could fulfill the whole law (James 2:10).

When man was in this disparate state, Jesus stepped on the scene of history and declared “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also…… 6 ….. I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” John 14:1-6. No need to cover ourselves with the leaves of religion, no need to console ourselves with the tower of Babel (human endeavor and achievement), no need to kill a lamb, for Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, came to take away the sin of the world. He is the only way back to the tree of Life.

Jesus came first and foremost to save sinners. In Mark chapter 2 Jesus said to the palylized man, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” While Jesus would go on to heal the man of the bodily infirmity, he addressed the man’s spiritual condition first. Call on Jesus today, like the paralytic man, sin can paralyze anyone. The Good news is that Jesus is telling you today “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day 10:

Posted on September 8, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest that you read day 9 blog first by clicking here.

God’s Plan for Man Spoiled:

In day 9 blog, I discussed how Satan fell and he was cast out heaven to earth. Remember Adam had been crowned the ruler of this earth;” 16 The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, But the earth He has given to the sons of men.” Psalms 115:16.(New American Standard Bible) NASB.

Satan was not among the “sons of men”. He was a spirit being. Only man was created with a body. When Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to his disciples, but the disciples with the gruesome death that Jesus had suffered still on their mind, they concluded that the man who had appeared to them resembling Jesus was simply a ghost. Read the following account of how things prayed out in this scenerio: “36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

” Luke 24:36-48.

How did Jesus prove to his disciples that it was Him and not the ghost? Jesus said to them “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” Verse 39. So, from Jesus’ account, spirit beings do not have “flesh and bones”. This is a vital concept that need to be grasped as we forge forward in this study. The apostle Paul put it this way: “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 New Living Translation (NLT). Paul described the spiritual enemy that is at war with mankind as not having “flesh-and-blood”, while Jesus said that spirit beings do not have flesh and bones. So, when Satan was cast down from heaven, he and his angels that fell with him were not given a body. Adam and Eve along with the rest of creation had been given bodies because they were designed to function in this material temporal realm.

Without a body, Satan’s influence on earth was totally illegal according to God’s word that states that God gave the earth to the sons of men. Have you ever wondered why God had to go to a great length to convince men to carry out his plan on earth? He reasoned with Moses to go and deliver the children of Israel from Egypt, (Exodus 4:10). God had to convince Gideon that his cooperation was vital in delivering the Children of Israel from the oppression of the Medianites (Judges 6:14). Down to me and you, God needs our bodies to carry out His purpose on earth. Well, the same holds true for Satan. He needs a body to do his work on earth. When he fell from heaven he did not have a body. He quickly improvised and high jacked the body of a serpent, which must have been a four feeted creature, since he was cursed to crawl on the ground (Genesis 3:14) after Satan had used his body to deceive Adam and Eve. So now Satan finally had a body, he was legally permitted to transact business on earth. His first mission was to dethrone Adam who was then the legitimated ruler of the earth. He used a lie to accomplish this and Genesis Chapter 3 outlines Satan’s deception to man, the fall of man and the resulting curse from the fall. Don’t forget that from past study we had discussed that when Satan was cast down from heaven to earth, the following is recorded about him, “Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice! But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.” Revelation 12:12. Jesus regarded Satan as a thief, who comes to “..steal and kill and destroy” John 10:10. Over the centuries Satan has been behind senseless murders, genocides, and despicable human atrocities in human history. But the second Adam, Jesus Christ came to reverse that. That is why you find Jesus opening blind eyes, cleansing the lepers, making the lame to walk, healing a woman from bleeding and other countless healing miracles that Jesus performed to cure man from Satan inflicted pain.

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day 9:

Posted on September 4, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest that you read day 8 blog first by clicking here.

God’s Plan for Man Spoiled:

In day 8, I left off by discussing how Satan having deceived Adam and Eve, usurped their position as the rulers of this earth, a fact that was acknowledged by Jesus when he called Satan the “ruler of this world” (John 14:30) and by Apostle Paul when he addressed Satan as the “god of this world” 2 Corinthians 4:4.

The scriptures clearly tell us that Satan, who was ejected from heaven because of his rebellion against God, came down to earth with a deadly agenda (Rev.12:12). He had left heaven not on good terms, but had been cast down by the government of heaven because of his pride and rebellion against God. Revelation 12:12 states, “Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath”.

But why great wrath? To answer this question, we need to examine a text in Ezekiel 28:13-15 that states, “13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared. 14 You were the anointed cherub who covers: and I set you, so that you were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the middle of the stones of fire. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.”

I understand that some theologians have difficulty accepting the prior description as fitting Satan, because the context is about the king of Tyre. However, I have already addressed the issue that Satan being a spirit, he is not legally permitted to transact business on earth. In the Garden of Eden, he incarnated himself into a snake, in this case, he embodied himself in the king of Tyre. Jesus understood the concept that, a spirit being has to have a body to operate on earth. It is written about Jesus that “…. when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;” Hebrews 10:5 NIV.

A body was prepared for Jesus in the womb of the Virgin Mary, otherwise, it would have been illegal for Him to transact business here on earth, which had been designated to the sons of men (Psalms 115:16). That is why Jesus constantly refers to Himself as “son of man” in the gospels. Furthermore, Jesus referred to Satan as thief who did not come through the “door” (the womb of a woman) John 10:1. Jesus had no difficulty discerning the person of Satan, whether he was tempting him to convert stones into bread (Matthew 4:3) or tempting Him to avoid the pain of the cross through Peter (Matthew 16:23), who was in Jesus’ inner circle. As follows, when Jesus discerned that Satan was operating through Peter to entice him to avoid the cross, he did not address Peter but Satan; “23 But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.” Matthew 16:23 World English Bible (WEB).

In Luke 22:3 the scriptures state the following, “3 Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was numbered with the twelve.” (WEB). Satan needed a body through which he could carry out the betrayal of Jesus Christ, so he entered Judas’ body according to scripture. Following these developments, it is not unfathomable that Satan would carry out his agenda, through the of the king of Tyre. The Holy Spirit who inspired the scriptures, addressed the spirit that was working through the king of Tyre, in such a way that, the description can only fit Satan.

Now that I have established that Ezekiel 28:13-15 rightly applies to Satan, I am able to embark on answering the question as to why Satan came to earth with “great wrath” towards the dwellers of the earth. Without going into the technicalities, it is evident from Ezekiel 28:13-15, that at a certain point, Satan had enjoyed the luxury of the Garden of Eden. Possibly he might have been God’s first choice ruler for the Garden of Eden, before “iniquity” was found in him. Thus coming down to all mankind – the newly appointed rulers of the earth -, with vehement wrath. Besides, he wanted to revenge against God for ousting him out of heaven, and he wanted to continue with his goal of setting up his kingdom above God’s.

To some extent Satan achieved limited success. When he came to tempt Jesus (the second Adam), it is stated as follows: “5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Luke 4:5-7 NIV.

Satan claimed that the kingdoms had been given to him. He was pleading that rather being regarded as an encroacher, he had a legitimate earth title from Adam. Jesus never contested the devil’s claim to the kingdoms of this world and their splendor. However, Jesus resisted Satan using the sword of the Spirit which is God’s word, defeat him, and by so doing, he regained what the first Adam had lost. This launched a dispensation of God’s “Kingdom” versus “Kingdoms” of this world. The book of Revelation chapter 11 verse 15 states, “15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (NKJV). While Satan managed to deceptively steal the kingdoms of this world from Adam, John the Baptist (Matthew 3:1-2), and Jesus (Mark 1:15), came announcing the advance of God’s Kingdom. After Jesus ascended into heaven, His disciples were left with the task of propagating the messaged of the Kingdom. Acts 3:21 states, “21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets.” This means you and I, and all those who believe in Christ, are involved in this restoration of these stolen kingdoms. God’s kingdom will crush all other kingdoms and stand forever, “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,” Daniel 2:44. Stay tuned, I want to share with you ways you can evict the devil and take what is rightfully yours.

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day 8:

Posted on September 3, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

God’s Plan for Man Spoiled:

I suggest that you read day 7 blog first by clicking here.

When Satan, and one third of Angels who had joined him in a rebellion against God became cast down from heaven, a voice was heard in heaven stating, “Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice! But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.”
” Revelation 12:12 New Living Translation (NIV).

But terror will come on the earth and the sea? Why? Because Satan who is the master mind of all terrorism, had been cast down from heaven to earth. Jesus described him as a thief, who comes to kill, steal and destroy; “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

He came to steal people’s: peace, joy, health, marriages, jobs, relationships, wealthy and anything he can get his hands on. In another instance Jesus depicted him as a liar and the father of all lies; “….He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44.

I grew up in Africa where animals live in the wild and herdsmen sometimes encounter potentially dangerous animals. But I remember being advised by my parents, that many times even dangerous animals, when unprovoked would not bother man. However, when a wounded animal escaped from the hunters, it would become deadliest and would chase and kill anything that resembles humans. Well Satan suffered a terrible defeat in heaven when he was cast down to earth. He knew it very well, that the sovereign God was the reason for his defeat. So, like a wounded animal, he came down to earth with great vengeance to kill anything that resembles God. Remember man had been created in the image of God? He knew exactly where to go, the Garden of Aden where man had been coronated by God to be the governor of the whole earth; “The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.
” Psalms 115:16.

God had outsourced the earth and its resources to Adam and his descendants, “the earth He has given to mankind”. Remember that Satan is not mankind, he is a spirit. He did not have a body either. According to God’s word, the earth had been given to mankind. This would make the activity of any spirit being here on earth to be illegal. The devil knew about this legality, that is why his first move was to secure a body, a serpent. Then the next move was to use a lie to cause man to disobey God, a task he succeeded at. When Satan succeeded at enticing Adam and Eve to disobey God, he assumed Adam’s title, “the ruler of this world”. Jesus acknowledged this fact when he said, “I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me,” John 14:30. The Apostle Paul echoed this sad reality when he said, “3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. ” 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

But don’t worry, God is always a light year ahead of His arch enemy the devil.

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day 7:

Posted on September 2, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest that you read day 6 blog first by clicking here.

“34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” John 10:34. I have so far reasonably outlined God’s original plan for man to rule the earth and be a god of this world so to speak.

When Jesus was talking to the Jews who did not even believe in Him, and who wanted to stone Him because he “blasphemed”, in their view, being a man, He made himself God. Jesus reminded these non-believing Jews, that it was written about them, that they themselves were gods: “33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?” John 10:33-36.

God’s plan for man spoiled:

I have previously covered how Satan like man being a free will moral agent, abused his free will by choosing to rebel against God and swaying one third of the angels to join in his rebellion. Well, Michael and other arch angels silenced the rebellion but Satan could no longer be in heaven nor maintain his status in heaven.

The book of Revelation Chapter 12 verses 7 through 17 states the following about this rebellion: “7 There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war. 8 They didn’t prevail, neither was a place found for him any more in heaven. 9 The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. 11 They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death. 12 Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”

13 When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14 Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.16 The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth. 17 The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.”

After the rebellion, Satan and his emissaries were ejected out of heaven and they found themselves homeless on earth. At this point man had been coroneted as the sole ruler (god) of this earth. (To Be Continued in Blog 8)

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day 6:

Posted on August 31, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest you read Day 5 first, by clicking here.
Man was not the only creature that was created with a sovereign free will. In Colossians 1:16 the bible states, “16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
The Garden of Eden was placed on earth, a physical location with magnificent beauty bearing the majesty of its maker, God. It was naturally irrigated and air conditioned by four rivers. It was decorated with every precious stone including the choicest of gold. Man did fall within the visible creation of God but within the category of the invisible creation of God was the angels, the cherubim, the seraphim, the archangels, and the 24 elders. At the helm of heavenly worship Satan had been created with any musical instrument embedded in his body and he was in charge of all the heavenly host to lead them in worship before the throne of God. His other name is “Lucifer” although we now popularly know him as “Satan” the devil, the serpent, the dragon and other names that depict his deception and deadly nature.

According to Ezekiel 28:13 Lucifer may have been also designated as a governor of the Garden of Eden. Note that he is described as being in “Eden” in the following scripture: “13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared.” Ezekiel 28:13 World English Bible (WEB).
As was man, Lucifer was created as a free will moral agent. Lucifer was the first of creation to use his free will to rebel against his creator, God; “3 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” Isaiah 14:13-14.

Satan led one third of the angels to stage a rebellion in an attempt to overthrow God and enthrone himself as the sovereign ruler of heaven and earth but the coup d’etat attempt failed. (To be continued in blog 7)

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day 4:

Posted on August 28, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest you read Day 3 first, by clicking here.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1. To have a healthy building, it must have a healthy foundation. “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do”? Psalms 11:3. To understand God’s Plan of Salvation for Mankind, one need to understand God’s original plan for mankind to begin with, how it was spoiled, and how God reinstated it.
During the creation process God was concerned about ruler-ship. God is a God of order. There is order in heaven, God seats upon the throne, the 24 elders (Revelation 4) have their place, angels have their place, the archangels have their place, the Cherubim and Seraphim have their place and so are the heavenly creatures. There is rank and order in heaven, so God wanted to make the earth a replica of heaven.
God’s original plan for Man:
So, after God had created day and night, the bible states, “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.” Genesis 1:16. God decided that even day and night needed rulers. God then created the sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night. When it came to the earth and its affairs God saw that a ruler was needed. Genesis 1:26 states, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” So, man was created to mirror his maker in heaven, here on earth, to have total dominion over the work of God’s hands. The three branches of government in the United States of America as well as other governments of the world, to some extent have features of God’s design. Companies and families reflect some aspects of God’s design. There’s a head, the final decision maker. When this order is challenged, the consequences are inevitably chaos.

God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls-Day3:

I suggest you read Day 2 first, by clicking here.
There is a story of a farmer, who found the eggs of an eagle. He took the eggs and stealthily inserted them into the nest of one of his chickens and mixed them within her eggs. Then the mother chicken predictably started brooding her eggs, including the eggs of an eagle. When time came for hatching, chicks were hatched out of the chicken’s eggs and only one egg from the eagle hatched an eaglet. The eaglet started to run around with chicks, eat worms like chicks, scratched the soil like chicks and assumed all the mannerisms of chicks. As time went by though, the eaglet’s physical make up – wings, eyes, beak, legs and its general appearance – became strikingly different from those of the chicks. However, the eaglet continued the mannerisms of chicks, run and hid with the chickens, when the mother chicken made an alarm sound, warning the chickens of a coming eagle. The eaglet though, started to wonder why he did not look like the chicks. One day, an eagle flew majestically across the sky, made an eagle sound and came down for a prey. All the chicks run and hid but the eaglet remained. The eagle obviously could not eat a fellow eagle but just started to want to socialize with this young eagle that was raised like a chicken. The young eagle finally realized that he was an eagle not a chick. He even tried the eagle sound and all the chicks and chickens in the village run for cover. After a few minutes of practicing eagle manners with the visiting eagle, the young eagle was able to fly across the sky just as majestically as the adult eagle.

We are God’s children. The scripture states that, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” Roman 8:16. Like the eaglet, there is something in every individual that bears witness that we are created by God. That is why despite religious persecutions of Christians, Christianity still expanded all over the world, the bible has sold more copies than any other book known to man and even people who may not have come to fully confess their faith, refer to God as “a man upstairs”, “higher power” and so forth. It has take more conscious effort on the part of man to dismiss this intuitive connection with his maker, than to embrace it and explore the relationship. Like the eaglet, the bible tells us that we were hatched in sin. Psalms 51:5 states “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”  We became raised as sinners when we are meant to be saints. Fallen nature taught mankind to live in the mannerisms of a sinner, talk like a sinner, walk like a sinner, act like a sinner, live like a sinner and the whole nine yard. We inherited that fallen nature from our common ancestor Adam. But then came the second Adam, the man Jesus Christ. Scriptures tell us that “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. Jesus came to show us that we are eagles and not chickens. That is why he ate with sinners, allowed prostitutes and tax collectors to hang out with him. The religious folks couldn’t take it. They cried “foul”, he is eating with sinners. The re-occurring theme of Jesus ministry was simple “Go and sin no more”. Simply put He was saying “stop living like a chicken, you belong to the eagle class”. In the book of John chapter 8 verses 1 through 11, there is a narration that highlights Jesus’ approach to sinners. Jesus’ approach to you and me is still the same today. Please read on:

“Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Jesus said to this woman that everyone wanted to make a spectacle, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more”  God is not mad at you and He is not out to get you. He wants you to know that you are not a chicken, you are an eagle. Stop acting like a chicken, go and sin no more, case closed. John 3:17 states “ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” God never wastes his time telling chickens that they are chickens but He will take His time to tell a chicken that it is an eagle. Please read the following statement from Jesus “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mark 2:17.  (To be continued on day 4 blog)

Biblical Prosperity – A Balanced Approach-Day 2:

Posted on August 26, 2015 by heavenlyspringschurch

I suggest you read Day 1 first, by clicking here.

So, if the doctrine of poverty/penance was not part of the early church, how did it creep into the church and into the minds of many today? It dates back to during the dark ages’ time. A man commonly known as Saint Francis of Assis, is to be credited with this teaching. Born a son of a prosperous merchant named Pietro di Bernardone in 1881/1882, Francis must have enjoyed the very luxuries that he later came to denounce. He even served in the military for his region of Assis, for which he went to war in 1204 AD. It is purported that, when en route to war, he saw a vision that directed him to go back to Assis, and consequently, he would come to loathe earthly things. According to the online article entitled “Saint Francis of Assisi” posted on Wikipedia, Francis went to Rome and” On a pilgrimage to Rome, he joined the poor in begging at St. Peter’s Basilica. The experience moved him to live in poverty”. His teaching influenced many followers, including Saint Clare who founded the order for “poor ladies” that was later named the “Poor Clares” in her honor, after her death.

Throughout the centuries up to now, this dark age rooted teaching, has not only continued to influence the church, but has also provided the a lens, through which the world looks at the church, that the church and Christians out to be poor. This mindset, has unconsciously been woven into the fabric of many of today’s world religions to a certain extent. The fallacy of this way of thinking is that it defeats most of, if not all of the values of Christianity.

Jesus said “… Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15 (This can’t be done without money)

Jesus gave the following narrative:

3’ “’When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” Matthew 25:31-40

Jesus expected the church to be so well off materially and financially, so that it would be able to take care of “the least of these” of our time. The church is expected to take care of the: hungry, the widows, the orphans, the neglected and the poor. This is not just to sit down with them and have a pity party with them, but to give to them something tangible to meet their need. Without the church at large and Christians individually prospering, what Jesus commanded believers to do, care for those in need, would simply not be possible. Romans 10:14-16 states, “14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” The preceding scripture about a preacher being able to preach to those who have not heard about Jesus, depends on someone being able to financially support the preacher, and sending him to preach “And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” The church and believers need to be financially prosperous in order to be able to do the sending.

God does not want us as His children to be poor because He, “….hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” Psalms 35:27

He does not want to us to be sick because “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” I Peter 2:24. God does not want anyone to go to hell because He says, “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” Ezekiel 33:11. Any doctrine or teaching that is contrary to the aforementioned, is simply out of sync with scripture, and with the Gospel our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Stay tuned for Day 3 blog next, “God’s will for all mankind – The Salvation of our souls”.
