God’s Plan for Man Spoiled:
In day 8, I left off by discussing how Satan having deceived Adam and Eve, usurped their position as the rulers of this earth, a fact that was acknowledged by Jesus when he called Satan the “ruler of this world” (John 14:30) and by Apostle Paul when he addressed Satan as the “god of this world” 2 Corinthians 4:4.
The scriptures clearly tell us that Satan, who was ejected from heaven because of his rebellion against God, came down to earth with a deadly agenda (Rev.12:12). He had left heaven not on good terms, but had been cast down by the government of heaven because of his pride and rebellion against God. Revelation 12:12 states, “Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath”.
But why great wrath? To answer this question, we need to examine a text in Ezekiel 28:13-15 that states, “13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared. 14 You were the anointed cherub who covers: and I set you, so that you were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the middle of the stones of fire. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.”
I understand that some theologians have difficulty accepting the prior description as fitting Satan, because the context is about the king of Tyre. However, I have already addressed the issue that Satan being a spirit, he is not legally permitted to transact business on earth. In the Garden of Eden, he incarnated himself into a snake, in this case, he embodied himself in the king of Tyre. Jesus understood the concept that, a spirit being has to have a body to operate on earth. It is written about Jesus that “…. when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;” Hebrews 10:5 NIV.
A body was prepared for Jesus in the womb of the Virgin Mary, otherwise, it would have been illegal for Him to transact business here on earth, which had been designated to the sons of men (Psalms 115:16). That is why Jesus constantly refers to Himself as “son of man” in the gospels. Furthermore, Jesus referred to Satan as thief who did not come through the “door” (the womb of a woman) John 10:1. Jesus had no difficulty discerning the person of Satan, whether he was tempting him to convert stones into bread (Matthew 4:3) or tempting Him to avoid the pain of the cross through Peter (Matthew 16:23), who was in Jesus’ inner circle. As follows, when Jesus discerned that Satan was operating through Peter to entice him to avoid the cross, he did not address Peter but Satan; “23 But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.” Matthew 16:23 World English Bible (WEB).
In Luke 22:3 the scriptures state the following, “3 Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was numbered with the twelve.” (WEB). Satan needed a body through which he could carry out the betrayal of Jesus Christ, so he entered Judas’ body according to scripture. Following these developments, it is not unfathomable that Satan would carry out his agenda, through the of the king of Tyre. The Holy Spirit who inspired the scriptures, addressed the spirit that was working through the king of Tyre, in such a way that, the description can only fit Satan.
Now that I have established that Ezekiel 28:13-15 rightly applies to Satan, I am able to embark on answering the question as to why Satan came to earth with “great wrath” towards the dwellers of the earth. Without going into the technicalities, it is evident from Ezekiel 28:13-15, that at a certain point, Satan had enjoyed the luxury of the Garden of Eden. Possibly he might have been God’s first choice ruler for the Garden of Eden, before “iniquity” was found in him. Thus coming down to all mankind – the newly appointed rulers of the earth -, with vehement wrath. Besides, he wanted to revenge against God for ousting him out of heaven, and he wanted to continue with his goal of setting up his kingdom above God’s.
To some extent Satan achieved limited success. When he came to tempt Jesus (the second Adam), it is stated as follows: “5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Luke 4:5-7 NIV.
Satan claimed that the kingdoms had been given to him. He was pleading that rather being regarded as an encroacher, he had a legitimate earth title from Adam. Jesus never contested the devil’s claim to the kingdoms of this world and their splendor. However, Jesus resisted Satan using the sword of the Spirit which is God’s word, defeat him, and by so doing, he regained what the first Adam had lost. This launched a dispensation of God’s “Kingdom” versus “Kingdoms” of this world. The book of Revelation chapter 11 verse 15 states, “15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (NKJV). While Satan managed to deceptively steal the kingdoms of this world from Adam, John the Baptist (Matthew 3:1-2), and Jesus (Mark 1:15), came announcing the advance of God’s Kingdom. After Jesus ascended into heaven, His disciples were left with the task of propagating the messaged of the Kingdom. Acts 3:21 states, “21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets.” This means you and I, and all those who believe in Christ, are involved in this restoration of these stolen kingdoms. God’s kingdom will crush all other kingdoms and stand forever, “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,” Daniel 2:44. Stay tuned, I want to share with you ways you can evict the devil and take what is rightfully yours.
God’s Plan for Man Reinstated: (To Be Continued)
Model Prayer: Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Dear Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I am sorry for my sins, and I ask you to forgive me, wash me with your blood, and give me your Holy Spirit to teach and guide me. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
If you believed and prayed the above prayer, you are now a born again child of God.
